Chapter 5 (Diversification of Employment Methods in the Israel Police), Section 22 (Amendment to the Police Ordinance) of the Economic Plan Bill (Legislative Amendments for the Implementation of Economic Policy for the 2026 Budget Year), 5786-2026

The proposal seeks to amend the Police Ordinance. The proposal stipulates that authority will be added to employ police officers under a special contract, under conditions to be determined by the Minister of National Security. The proposal expands existing arrangements in the State Service (Benefits) Law regarding police pensions. It is proposed to adopt an arrangement similar to that established in the Economic Efficiency Law regarding the Israel Security Agency and the Mossad. The proposed arrangement will apply to new employees only.
