Wildlife Protection Bill (Amendment - Forfeiture of Hunting Equipment), 5785-2025

The bill seeks to amend the Wildlife Protection Law. The proposed change concerns the section dealing with the forfeiture of hunting equipment. Currently, the law allows for the forfeiture of hunting equipment used to commit an offense under the law, as well as wildlife that was hunted illegally. The proposed amendment will expand the possibility to also forfeit motorized vehicles used for hunting. The proposal stems from the increasing use of motorized vehicles for hunting wildlife. The purpose of the amendment is to enable the forfeiture of vehicles used to commit hunting offenses, similar to other hunting equipment. The proposed amendment will take effect 30 days from the date of its publication. In addition, it is proposed that the Israel Nature and Parks Authority be required to complete its preparations for the implementation of the new arrangement, which includes distinguishing between vehicles used for hunting and other hunting equipment, within 30 days from the date of the law's publication.
