Flag, Emblem and National Anthem Bill (Amendment - Placing the National Flag in All Classrooms in Elementary and High Schools in the State of Israel), 5785-2024

This bill seeks to amend the existing law regarding the flag, emblem, and national anthem of the state. Currently, the law mandates the placement of the Israeli flag in government and public institutions, as well as on the facade or main building of recognized educational institutions. The proposed amendment would expand this obligation and require the placement of the national flag in all classrooms in elementary and high schools in Israel. The purpose of the amendment is to strengthen the students' connection to the State of Israel, their country, and their homeland, as part of education for the goals of the State of Israel, which include love of the land, loyalty to the state, and an understanding of Zionist ideology and Jewish and democratic values.
