Extension of Periods Law (Temporary Provision - Swords of Iron) (Foster Care for Children), 5784-2023

The law allows a further extension of a child's stay in emergency foster care, beyond an extension already given. This applies where a first extension of the child's stay in foster care, given by the national foster care supervisor, ends between October 7, 2023 and January 6, 2024. In such cases, the national foster care supervisor, after consulting a suitable social worker and for special reasons that will be recorded, may extend the child's stay in foster care by up to three more months. The law stresses that it does not reduce the supervisor's duty to act with due speed.
