National Insurance Law Bill (Amendment - Senior Citizen Pension for a Disabled Person), 5783-2022

This bill amends the National Insurance Law regarding the senior citizen pension for a disabled person. The primary change is in the definitions. Instead of the definitions of "additional benefit for a disabled person" and "difference between the disability pension and the senior citizen pension," the terms "senior citizen pension" and "disability amount" will now be defined. Additionally, the definition of "senior citizen pension amount" will be deleted. The bill stipulates that a person receiving a disability pension from the National Insurance Institute who reaches retirement age will not be entitled to a senior citizen pension lower than the amount of the disability pension they were entitled to. Furthermore, it is proposed to establish that the senior citizen pension amount will be equal to the senior citizen pension amount, plus an amount equal to the disability pension the person was previously entitled to. This is intended to enable people with disabilities to live with dignity in old age.
